Uvalde

As part of our Emmy-winning series with Spectrum Networks, we produced a powerful feature on the Uvalde High School football team, telling the story of a community finding unity and strength just months after the Robb Elementary tragedy.

Documentary Storytelling

Our Approach

Through a multi-year content partnership with Spectrum Networks, 1708 Media has produced a series of long-form sports features aired across Texas and nationally. Among these stories, none was more emotional or important than the story we told in Uvalde.

Just months after the tragic mass shooting at Robb Elementary School, the Uvalde High School football team became a symbol of resilience and hope for a grieving town. Our production team traveled to Uvalde to capture this story - meeting with the community and football team.

We led every stage of the creative process - from sourcing and shaping the story, to scheduling, interviewing, filming and post-production. The result was a broadcast-quality feature that aired across the state on Spectrum and touched viewers nationwide.

This project was part of a broader partnership with Spectrum that has resulted in multiple Emmy Awards for 1708 Media. It reflects not only our ability to produce visually compelling content, but also our deep commitment to  storytelling in even the most difficult and emotional contexts.
